I think it's a good move, a first step to a truely independent seceded french region in London. French interests should also be protected and strongly defended from homeland.

Interesting. Maybe we should have one in the Costa Del Crime?French citizens in the UK will for the first time be able to vote for an MP, with the creation of a Northern Europe constituency in the French parliament. What role will London play?
London is home to the majority of the vibrant UK French population for whom the capital is not just a city of transit.
They will soon be represented by a new French MP for the recently established Northern Europe constituency comprising the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Baltic states.

Chimera to the rescue!
But what an Earth are you saying Chimera, we all are now happy Euros, there's no such thing as homeland anymore. It's just this big European continent. Do you feel yourself even more proud now.
Isn't it illegal ?
If the French Government is involved in an unpopular event are the locals going to protest down Whitehall ?
pocoloco; "It's just this big European continent."
The British Isles is a seperate continental shelf -we just haven't updated the geography books and atlases![]()

It's an interesting move. I have to wonder what the political leanings are of this large expat French community in London? Would it be presumptious of me to suggest that it leans a bit to the Right of center?
According to the article
"Statistics from the French Ministry of the Interior show that the majority (53.05%) of overseas French citizens voted for right-wing candidate Mr Sarkozy in the 2012 presidential election.
But French people in the UK bucked this trend for the first time by voting for Socialist candidate Francois Hollande - though Mr Sarkozy won almost 52% of the second round vote in London."
I doubt it. From what I've read, they're French citizens, voting for a newly created seat in the French Parliament, that covers the UK where a a large number of expats live. The MP/the French Parliament have no rights or powers over London/anywhere outside France. He just represents the concerns and interests of expats to the French government.
Why should people who don't live in France have a say how France is run?
U ain't going to see UK MP's in Australia , Portugal , Spain etc where numerous UK ex pats reside ... it will never happen ,
If they don't want to live in there country they were born and live elsewhere for personal reasons then they forfeit all rights about they're home nation ..
