The whole point is to protect our interests so there wouldn"t be any favor to return.

There we go - wasn't that a much more constructive and explanatory post than just "What a farce ..."?

They're still French citizens, so they're affected by a lot of the decisions the French government would make. Perhaps they're only abroad for a few years due to work or family reasons? Not saying I agree with it, just that it's not entirely mad. Especially within the European Union where we have free movement of peoples, goods and services.

What if Britain wants to protect the interests of expats in Dordogneshire?

For now, but very soon they will have a say if the lobby enough to the british authorities. For example, biltilingual roadsigns in the french quarters.

    I sincerely doubt that.

And we're still waiting for you to explain whether we can have an MP for Dordogneshire, or whether only the French are allowed this system?

Why? The region has a large expat community. Why can't we have an MP to protect our interests?

It's a fair point but wouldn't happen. The U.K. is far too multicural and you wouldn't see Londres for all the signage and the E.U. can't afford the cost.

It'd be easier to buy a travel guide or satnav

Because it's not the case right now, you don't have a British MP for France, but if you are a patriot, you should send a couple of letters to your Parliament regarding this issue.

Sure they would. They'd be able to protect the interests of other nations - in France. Maybe get a coalition going amongst expats from all nations residing there in France and make some real change. You'd like that wouldn't you?

Misleading title. Since when London includes UK, Scandinavia, Ireland, Baltic States ?
