I bet 98% of the people on the net never heard of him before his "trololo" video got famous, when it first hit the web it was titled something like "creepy russian singer" "freaky guy singing" and etc

Apparently the trololololo song is because the original lyrics he wanted to sign were not approved by the censors at the time, so he just decided to sing made up stuff.The original was sort of a country song from the states and the censors didnt approve of him singing about losing his wife, his truck and his dog.
