My father's favourite song of his:
I read NY Times obituary today and all I can say is... ALL MY HATE GOES TO NYT.
Are you kidding me? Is this supposed to be a joke?ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) — Eduard Khil was a beloved Soviet crooner who only won sudden international stardom two years ago when a 1976 video of him singing "trololo" instead of the song's censored words became a global Internet hit.
Newspapers nowadays are being written by pimply faced high school kid interns as it seems.
I never hear about him before, a talentuous artist.
I bet 98% of the people on the net never heard of him before his "trololo" video got famous, when it first hit the web it was titled something like "creepy russian singer" "freaky guy singing" and etc
Apparently the trololololo song is because the original lyrics he wanted to sign were not approved by the censors at the time, so he just decided to sing made up stuff. The original was sort of a country song from the states and the censors didnt approve of him singing about losing his wife, his truck and his dog.
I can imagine the scene at the golden gates of heaven now
Angel hears voice in distance singing "Lolllolololol lolololol lololololol" looks at God says "WTF???"
God: "Ah good, Eduards here."
Sad to see loss of such a talent
