Roebuck, disregard CrYsIs's comment, you do not need an MBA or an MS here
Mech engineers are in extreme demand, and will be moreso.
One of my best friends had a $35k-$40k job while IN SCHOOL, and when he became an official engineer, got $45k-$50k. Within a year moved jobs, to like a 60k one. In short, go for it.
Im telling you, companies are canvassing the engineering schools badly, they need them.
Its different in India, so he wouldn't know. Why they aren't being imported in huge numbers from the PRC and India is because, frankly, it just costs more in the end. Their engineers are terrible, from what industry sources I've been in hearsay with. Always making huge **** ups, not remotely on time, substandard work, and NO CREATIVITY at all, especially from the PRC ones. Again, not to get into depth about it for many reasons, but suffice to say its partly cultural. So much emphasis in these countries is given to rote learning and memorization that they make terrible engineers, and esp mechanical ones, because they don't know how to think for themselves or to engineer solutions. Its many factors again, but companies even in my piss ass broke town are cutting back on their engineers because while cheap, the costs of doing buisness in the end is just too much due to lost time and money, either waiting for results, or having to correct results.
If you are even only remotely competent at school here, they will WANT YOU. Gogogogogogogo!
