man this doesnt make the houston fire department look very good... one firefighter who is lacking in the self control and common sense department shooting a captain who seems to have a nack for loud parties. nice.
At most he should have gone there and asked them to turn the music down in a neighborly way. If that didnt yield results, call the police. no need to go over there again...thats just lookin for trouble... he had no business bringing a gun, or pulling a gun... and the neighbors at that point, loud part or not, had every right to draw their weapons since he was on THEIR property with a gun.
His ass is goin to jail.

Love the headline. Some guy walking to a neighbor's house with a gun and shooting him is "stand your ground" to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Justice served.
Connaught Ranger.
all in all, the CHL and gun laws, put anyone in Texas at least, at peril of going to prison if you aren't darn sure of what you are doing if you pull a gun on someone in this state. Your life had better be in serious danger. In CHL class they always teach you that if you are in your own house, and it is dark outside (night) and there is an intruder, and you are sure it is an intruder, or someone is walking off with your property (at night) they you are fairly safe in stopping them with lethal force. Not sure I would kill someone for property though.
The guy who just got 40 years in prison screwed up bigtime, in that he went out looking for trouble on someone elses property...obviously not the legal thing to do.
Texas legal system, jury service here, usually gets it right.
Dumbass going to jail, where he belongs.
