I have never been to Athens but i have heard its nothing like the second city of Greece , Thessaloniki. They say some bad neighborhoods exist down there.

    Pakistanis, Afghans and Syrians mostly.

However, this is a second wave of immigrants, the first being when the Soviet Block collapsed and Greece was once again a favorable destination (mainly Albanians).

Dream on about those 400 Abrams tanks. USA would rather make them into artificial reefs than be used against a NATO ally by another NATO ally.

Sorry mate but USA armed greece and turkey in 1991- (after cw) with vast armaments (tanks, frigates, planes). Both countries never had an enemy then except them and in 1996 they almost had a war - USA stopped it.
Nato vs Nato is something USA doesn't want, but profits a LOT from it. Even NOW with turkish planes doing fly overs and turkish ships doing cruises outside athens USA keeps very very quiet. Its a nice plan that keeps a lot of workers in lockheed, boeing etc in work.

Now let's look at the most important factor in modern warfare, which is airpower:

    Advantages of Turkish airforce:
    1. Numerical superiority of 218 F16s to Greece's 157 F16s.
    2. F-35 modernisation program (none of which have been recieved yet)

Advantages of Hellenic Air Force + air defence
    1. Having Mirage 20005 Mk2, which the Turks find especially difficult to encounter, and can carry SCALP EG cruise missiles
    2. Greek warplanes have the capability of hitting whatever the conditions and at night, wheareas the vast majority of the Turkish fighters do not have this capability
    3. Greece has both the S300 and Patriot advanced AA systems. Turkey has neither.
    4. Despite the lack of real combat experience, Greek pilots are known to be among the best in the world, proven by their performance against US fighters in Red Flag 2008 and more recently when two Greek pilots where voted the best pilots in NATO

    5. 185 F-16 BLK40/50 are under CCIP modernization. (BLOCK50+ ADV Level) Nearly number of a squadron was delivered.
    6. Turkey has 7 Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers
    7. Turkey has 472 fighter jets (Greece has 293) and all F-16 and F-4 jets have capability hitting at night and all weather.

why loose the upgrade to M1A2? Its 1bill$.

if the right wing parties win in the next weeks election we will see not only M1s but also used UH-60s, used MLRS, used Bradleys and used everything that USARMY/USMC has no use any more.

Yours is a fascinating tribe. Even now, you are defiant, in the face of annihilation and the presence of a god. It isn't wise to stand against me, Mihaloliakos. Imagine what horrible fate awaits my enemies when I would gladly kill any of my own men for victory.

Parking is not bad. A "shield" was always the best part of greek hoplites the last 4,000 years.

You can also paint them, take pics of them, find a good site to post them and talk all about them without any danger of dying. nice idea eh
