Westerners are pretty arrogant. We think a place is a mess when the people there trade illegal military grade firearms for goats.

The question is "why not". Central Asia is also swimming in G3s. Licensees used to spread them by the shiploads.

i believe after most African countries experience with FN FAL with its hard hitting round, this countries(which sided with the west in the cold war period) other choice was G-3.By the way most the fighting in african take place open spaces not in buildup cities where shootout take place with enemies at far distances

muck kenya is sandwiched between very unstable states and collapsed states thats why you find some of its provinces are quiet violet and also for a long time the central government didn't care about the far regions of kenya so as expected if can't get security from the government you provide it for your self by the way kenya police policing nairobi which is the capital city of nairobi are issued with G-3 and AK-47 because criminals here arm them self with illegal military grade firearms.its not advisable to be caught in a shootout either hey i can't say new york is so dangerous while some parts are quiet safe.

the stability of some african countries wouldn't allow such trades not to continue,so some parties involve in such trade may not encourage stability
