There will probably be a job or two open at main Justice...

So just so I know all the facts. Holder is subpoenaed to hand over all the documents, E-mails, etc. DOJ turns over an amount that Congress considers not enough. So they have a couple of meetings and the compromise proposed is the AG will supply not all the documents and specifically not one asked for by Issa and then his committee drops their investigation. (Imagine if you will someone being subpoenaed in an investigation and their answer is, "I'll bring some of the stuff but the you have to stop the investigation, even though what I'm giving you isn't what you wanted).

2 Federal agents are dead, 200 or so Mexican citizens are dead and there is a boat load of guns yet to be recovered. But trying to get to the bottm of this is political?

Pretty much. Wasn't the deal basically a few preconditions before the meeting? Such as no contempt charges. Issa knew there would be no guarantee to actually hand over the much needed docs from these stonewallers.

Apparently so. It sickens me to listen to J. Carney at the press conferences deflect and put blame on this issue as a "Witch Hunt" or "Republicans not focusing on the economy". Sadly those type of words will resonate with believers and those people will not see that there is an actual point to this investigation.

I feel absolutely terrible for the families of Brian Terry and Jaime Zapata and hope one day they get some sort of closure.

Arrow Holder emails: We 'need answers' on Fast and Furious

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012...t-and-furious/

"We need answeron this. Not defensive BS. Real answers."
In email exchanges with subordinates in February and March 2011, Attorney General Eric Holder and the department's second-highest official expressed growing concern that something might have gone wrong in a federal gun-smuggling probe called Operation Fast and Furious.

Two of Holder's emails and one by Deputy Attorney General James Cole were among documents the Justice Department showed Tuesday to Republican and Democratic staffers of the House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee in an effort to ward off a criminal contempt vote against the attorney general.

The full contents of the emails were described to The Associated Press by two people who have seen them. Both people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about them publicly.

For the past year and a half, some Republicans have promoted the idea that Holder and other top-level officials at the Justice Department knew federal agents in Operation Fast and Furious had engaged in a risky tactic known as "gun-walking."

Two of Holder's emails and one from Cole appear to show that they hadn't known about gun-walking but were determined to find out whether the allegations were true.
If true, then AG Holder did not know about the 'gun walking' program until after the public controversy about the 'Fast and Furious' program began. Aside from the obvious implications of sheer incompetence for not even knowing about a such a major risky operation going on for years in his chain of command, one must now wonder why, exactly, Holder has been stonewalling so vigorously, and what, exactly, he has been trying to hide.

Is there a list of those who voted no?

Personally it's silly to walk out. I know there will be people who say "Well other Congresses have walked out" but this is a whole different issue.

Just think, all those times I could have just walked out on my responsibilities when I didn't agree with the actions or matters at hand. Would have made my life much more easy to let others deal with it all. Silly me for sticking to my oath, my maturity, professionalism and personal integrity.

the DOJ has stated they refuse to prosecute holder, despite the contempt vote...

WTF is this country coming too when the executive branch is deciding everything and ignoring the elected representatives?

Your average politician would bust out in a sweat just reading that sentence aloud.

If the DOJ is protecting their own what are the options?

I remember liberals screaming about 'the Bush imperial presidency'. They are strangely silent now.

I will say this for the record, our country is being torn apart by this administration.
