Where do they find people like him? I wonder what he'll have to say if one of his children (if he has any) gets stricken with polio.
http://tribune.com.pk/story/392939/o...olio-campaign/MUZAFFARGARH: A cleric in Muzaffargarh declared the polio campaign ‘un-Islamic’ and announced at the local mosque that Jihad should be carried out against the visiting polio vaccination team.
According to details, the local polio team entered Muzaffargarh’s rural Khan Pur Bagga Sher area and asked local families to cooperate with the campaign.
When the local cleric, Maulvi Ibrahim Chisti found out about the campaign, he immediately went to the biggest mosque in the area and declared that polio drops are ‘poison’ and against Islam. He added that if the polio team forced anybody to partake in the vaccination campaign, then Jihad was ‘the only option’.

Ok, good luck to the kids in your area Mr Cleric. You fvcking dumbsh!t.
Oh man, the Anti-Vax morons need to be shot.
On the surface it may seem incredibly backwards....and it is.
But is it possible that the many sieve like leaks out of the US Administration regarding the medical intelligence collection activities that paralleled legitimate public health campaigns could play a role in this stupidity?
Locals might think the CIA is spying on their islamic inner workings.
No wonder spooks like to keep secrets a secret.
Well, remember how they tracked Bin Laden in Pakistan : they sent a doctor to visit houses.
the problem with polio vaccine is that it was made of porcine from pigs... that being said in overall the fatwa said the vaccine are allowed until a better halal vaccine invented in the future.
As regards vaccination, we have already issued Fataawa 92651 and 85750 clarifying that it is a permissible means (for treatment). However, if there is a doubt about the ingredient of a medicine which is used in vaccination, then one should consult the trustworthy Muslim doctors.
If it is confirmed that it contains impure ingredients, then, it is forbidden in principle to vaccinate with it unless this impurity is totally transformed, in a way that nothing remains of it, because the jurists may Allaah have mercy upon them stated that transformed impure items are pure. However, if this ingredient is not transformed and there is another permissible alternative, then it is not permissible to use this vaccine.
Nonetheless, if there is no other permissible alternative, then there are some details about the issue. If there is a preponderant probability for the children who are not vaccinated to become sick and that the disease is very serious, in a way that it is feared to cause death or a permanent handicap, then it appears that this case is like a dire necessity that would permit using such impermissible vaccine;
Allaah Says (what means): {…while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelled.}[Quran 6:119]. However, if one of the conditions is not met [the probability of sickness, and the disease being serious] then in our view (in Islamweb) it is not permissible to be vaccinated with something impure unless it is transformed.
someone need to go to MUZAFFARGARH and educate him
I can understand the controversy of vaccination for babies, but to claim it is against Islam is ridiculous. I wonder what he thinks about energetic medicine like acupuncture.
The real sad thing is that it isn't restricted to Islamic societies or even other ultra-conservative religious communities. Anti-vaccine hysteria is pervasive in all levels of society. Except for the us, it is in the guise of public health or anti-"Big Med" with "studies" to back things up (such as the one that stated that vaccines give kids autism, which was found recently to be fabricated). Seriously, those who fan the flames of this hysteria deserve the harshest of punishments.
The article talks exactly about this http://www.foreignpolicy.com/article...polio?page=0,1
