The real sad thing is that it isn't restricted to Islamic societies or even other ultra-conservative religious communities. Anti-vaccine hysteria is pervasive in all levels of society. Except for the us, it is in the guise of public health or anti-"Big Med" with "studies" to back things up (such as the one that stated that vaccines give kids autism, which was found recently to be fabricated). Seriously, those who fan the flames of this hysteria deserve the harshest of punishments.

Vaccines doesn't necessarily cause autism, but those children who were given antibiotics when they were babies had a higher prevalence to getting autism later on when vaccinated.

Just told the story to my dad who fell ill with polio as a child, before the vaccine was available back then.
He didn't comment, just shook his head in disbelief.
