What is Azerbaijan going to do with fairly new AK-74m and all the ammunition stockpiled for it.. Will they switch to NATO or rechamber Tavor.. Also confusing how Azerbaijan joined Turkish National rifle programme..

All these news begin with a joke of some Russian blogger who write about military. He wrote something about Azeri army etc, and added "Azerbajan are going to buy Tavors" for fun.
Next day many news agencies repeated this, a lot of people who knew the story were laughing hard, and vuala, it is now even at MP.net

Good lesson for everyone not to believe media

Azerbaijan government has been planning to replace AK-47s and AK-74s for few years now

They are hardly "media", just some irrelevant private websites.

Furthermore, Azerbaijan bought license for production of Ak-74M. So "replacing Kalashnikov" does not make much sense to start with.

Great news for Azerbaijan. Replacing obsolete kalashnikovs with Tavor sounds like a good deal.

They are actually replacing older AK variants with newer Ak-74M which is now locally produced.

Mepro-21, if I'm not mistaken are produced in Azerbaijan itself, and are attached on newly produced Ak-74M's.
