now that I think about it - I have almost no issued gear that I actually use....

I don't like how she's stroking that helmet....
i know where some extra ones are bro.................
OK, put all your crap on and prepare for heat stroke and death!!
Wife constantly gives me crap about the deltoid flaps. Wants me to wear them. More armor = more better (according to her)
Well we might want to get used to it for awhile. Given the DoD's budgeting issues I reckon that the ACU will be around for awhile...
Quite honestly I find shameful that some countries with smaller Armies and hence smaller defense budgets, can issue better and more useful Camo schemes (I'm talking to YOU Croatia). It is also my humble opinion that digital camo schemes are a fad. Every Army now MUST have the digital look or else they just don't look cool and professional.
Of all the Digital Patterns out there, I find only three are tactically sound. Croatia:

Canada (Amazing that Canada, after years of being a Olive Army could be spot on with a useable Camo pattern)
and the MARPAT design used by the USMC. Apparently they used the CADPAT design as an inspiration.
I would prefer to see the US Army go to the ATAC FG pattern. I have set of these and I think they are absolutely amazing.
What's your opinion on Multicam. I have seen these against every terrain except snow and they blend really well.
Hmmm well I have had them issued as part of RFI but I haven't really much chance to use them. I've seen the ATACS in the field and they seem to do just fine.
However, I would have to agree with you. If I can't have ATACS, then Multicam will do just as well. It's sort like getting a choice of station between Italy and Japan, it's almost win-win either way.
