Next question is how close to the border region will the trip line be, also what about the Syrian troops already on the border? or does Turkey see Syria deploying more forces to the border a threat but not the currently deployed units.

Unfortunately Syria has become the modern battlefield of other nations' interests. The war that takes place nowadays in Syria is dirty and behind the curtains if I might say. Mercenaries play the role of the soldiers of different countries and also other countries support the player that want to stay in Syria. People have witnessed civilian killings and the killers accused then the forces of Assad. It is not easy to believe anything anymore.

US and other countries play the same game they did with the other countries like Egypt or Iran in older days but as Alex said usually this goes to another direction and the new player is worst from the previous one.

Russia will not leave anybody to play games against Syria, and that means Syria will continue to be a battlefield of mercenaries from abroad and civil war as it is.

Is there any truth to reports of Turkey deploying troops and tanks to the Syrian border? most of the sources I have seen are from Syrian news sites! just wondering if there are any Turkish newspapers covering this.

Is the following video an indicator of Turkish Army deployments close to the borders?

In that case with Turkish troops massing on the Syrian border all its going to take is Assad to move forces up close to the border to trigger Turkey taking action, but can Assad really risk moving troops up to the border? if its true the opposition controls a growing number of towns and cities if Assad moves troops up to the border they could be caught between Turkish and FSA forces.

These are usual deployments for CT operations and can be seen during all summer season every year.

What I said was described from a Cypriot journalist while he was following the Cypriot military exercise ΔΗΜΗΤΡΑ (Dimitra) of that day and he shared his experience in the Cypriot newspaper ΑΛΗΘΕΙΑ (Truth). I will not spend time to translate in appropriate English, I will correct briefly what I can do fast from Google translator..

    The Challenge
Pair RF-4 type aircraft of the Turkish Air Force around 11 - 11.30 yesterday morning flew over Cyprus. It was the time that the units participating in the exercise went out of their camps and headed to the dispersal areas. At that time the Turkish military entered the airspace of Cyprus and moved so that the Cyrpiot National Guard is confident that they intended to photograph the movements of our units. In this way the Turks get valuable information about possible moves or changes in plans since they have to compare the movements made during this year's exercise with the last. Previously another Turkish aircraft type CN 235, which is equipped with jamming systems and monitoring, identified in the Cypriot airspace. Since that time the officers of the Cypriot National Guard Staff gave strict orders for radio silence and activated protection systems jamming. Those who were in the field of exercise little noticed, but those who were in the front military staff to radar and the Ministry of Defence to realize that Turkey is presented this year particularly persistent challenges in the implementation of the announced.

    Alarm of a fall
After noon, the pair of theTurkish RF-4 took the path leaving Cyprus. Originally headed east and then took the northern route. Fifty-five kilometers from the Cape of Apostolos Andreas and very close to where the Cyprus FIR meets the Syrian, the stigma of a spy plane disappeared from radar of the National Guard. If there was any doubt about what this means, disappeared when a few minutes later we got information about Turkish torpedo boats sail from the port of Famagusta. Almost simultaneously Turkish aircraft arrived in the fall of the Turkish spy aircraft, after Ankara sought and got permission from Syria in search and rescue operation in the region. Late in the afternoon official statement of the Turkish military staff confirmed the fall of the aircraft.

Of course the only thing is - is that Cyprus does have some bias against Turkey for various reasons. They shouldn't be shy about presenting some real evidence if they have it; it could take the wind right out of Turkey's sails.
