lets take Okkam razor. Syrian definitely have 23mm Shilka and 57mm S-60 and 30mm Pantsir. Why do they need Iranian [s]sh...t[/s] footprint?

When I was in the army, the procedure was to shoot with all weapons - including assault rifles, MG... - at a low flying enemy aircrafts. There were planes that were hit this way in YKW.

It was Erdogan calling Putin. It was MFA RF statement. Russian officials were caught on different kinds of fooling, but not on open lie

Assad hoping Erdogan's Israel-hate overpowers his logic/rationality again no doubt.

Russia now is "true democratic" country, so different fractions there use press in their local wars for power. Also "The State" there is learning fast to new socionic technologies and may itself start infowar. The only thing Russians says that can be believed - are official statements. All the rest can be/is sh...t send by Russians to your brain

He says that everybody knows about what the Russian warship id in the Syrian waters but nobody speaks about it!
Admiral Chabanenko. Seriously? The Turkish opposition leader is crazy! The Chabanenko only finished an exercise with Norway last month and has not deployed. It is still in home port as part of the Northern Fleet. You can't keep such a deployment a secret and it wouldn't go unnoticed as it transited from the Atlantic into the Mediterranean. He also claims that there are other Russian warships? Seriously? The last Russian warship in Syria was the Smetlivy and that went back to the Black Sea. The floating workshop PM-138 is deployed to Tartus. Tanker Iman also returned to the Black Sea from Tartus.

The fantasy claims of Russian warships in Syria has prompted a response from the Russian Navy.

    Let's take one indeed.
    1. Due to Shilkas - no probs with ammo.
    2. Shilka is very well known throughout the world (meaning there's countless countermeasurements for it developed), Mesbah-1 on the other hand isn't.
    3. Shilka isn't capable of targetting PGMs, Mesbah-1 is.
    4. Pantsir is disgustingly expensive asset, they've got what, like 10 of them? Why not use Pantsirs only at the most strategic of places while the rest of the country can easily be covered by a sea of cheap Meshab's?

1+2+3+4 = Mesbah is a very attractive option for Syria.

what is difference between PGM or any other target from point of view of AD? Khmmm I see no one, to be honest - just piece of aluminum flying on some speed and some altitude. More one - Shilka has both optical and radar guidance systems and stabilsed gun with fire rate of 3600 rounds/min nice device against low-altitude fast targets regardless of nature Ancient? Ya, but still effective

PS. Mesbah-1 is Iranian cadaver of ZU-23-2, which was predecessor of Zu-23-4 Shilka
