It's a new concept and I am all about it, no matter how many earthquakes or evironmental damage it may cause. I think it's a chance we should take. It may be cheaper than going over seas to get that oil. So far the midwest hasn't had a large traumatic earth quake. Some poeple, but not the majority, live in fear of a New Madrid line fracturing.

I'm surprised they haven't declared a major war on fracking yet to be honest. Such a cause may also be a perfect opportunity to declare a war on big insurance. Just my 2 random pennies.

I live in a state that is 8th plus largest oil and natural gas producing entity in the U.S and I don't believe, as a state we have capitalized/utilized our full potential to be a leading example of energy. We really could be a perfect example of "clean" energy or oil.

I can see the hypocrisy in the US. And it's a two side problem.
My question is why you join this by quoting an idiot who is part of this infotainment business.

But the opponents of global warming still ignore this.
Being critical is not being an "opponent to global warming".
Whwther there is or isn't an anthropogenic global warming is still subject to debate.
But the "holier than thou" BS and their "green crusade" are just being outted for what they are, and a lot of us GW sceptics have been saying all along.

Well for a start the mass media coverage on the topic has been almost exclusively infotainment.

Maybe the best way to fight infotainment is with patient zero infotainment.

The earth is 4 1/2 billion years old and humans have only been industrialized for less than 300 years and we are a threat to earth?!! Ask the Japanese if they feel like they are a threat to mother earth right now.

Not sure where to start. But lets look at it this way, nukes..... They are far from naturally occurring as common sense.

Volcanoes blowing their stack make nukes look like party poppers.

But seriously, not quite the same as dropping a dirty great bomb on the surface. 100KW is small, compared to the ones humans build. Chernobyl was 5.5 MW (1 MW = 1000 KW)

Volcanoes tend not to make places radioactive.

Yeah but 100KW completely uncontrolled for a 100,000 years...

I just thought it was cool - a natural nuclear reactor.

Lovelock should team up with T. Boone Pickens, he's full of natural gas.
