    Default Surpat

    Mall ninja time.

I thought when SURPAT came out it would spread but I really haven't seen any in the US. What is the consensus on it? Blood diamond pants.

I always hated when people say copy, because remember some of the stuff is made to be as effective as possible. thus when someone tries to get some also very effective the end result will be similar.
But as for the topic I do wonder why Surpat hasn't really come to the US yet considering the company would make good money selling it here, also a part of me wants to buy it because I like the look of it since it is that darker shade.

    What term would you prefer?

SURPAT on the L, MARPAT on the R

This isn't a case of parallel evolution this is a case of directly copying a design.

Remember MARPAT is directly copied from CADPAT, the difference being that a deal was struck between the parties involved.

I actually rather like the look of SURPAT over MARPAT, copy or no. If it came down to it I'd give it a shot....of course, I'm stuck in ACU for the moment, so a lot of alternatives look good to me.

Exhibit A as to why Russia is not quite ready to enter the modern world as a full member.

Yes it is copying. The CADPAT pattern was devised using a proprietary equation. Yes reproducing the pattern created by said equation EXACTLY is a blatant case of copying. Fiddling with the color palette doesn't change one bit.

Personally I don't really care one way or another but if the Russian fanbois want to taken seriously when they complain about westerners claiming various Russian items are copies of western ones when superficial details are shared due to similar design goals then they need to be honest enough to admit when Russian companies do in fact take outside developments & copy them wholesale.

well - of course the company isn't going to say "yeah we copied some other patterns"

I don't really care one way or the other, but it looks just like the other digital camos to me. nothing special.

They have patent on Surpat in USA = it's not a copy and this "
with new shades of colors was developed by SURVIVAL CORPS" .

PMI is just another one who like to scream "Evil Ruskies copy this copy that" with zero of knowledge.

I have a SURPAT uniform, awesome camo. It's very effective.
I think it might be a bit difficult for Americans to have it shipped from Russia because I think the U.S. limits packages from Russia to 500 gr., or just over 1 lbs.

    From yesterday's pix:

A Russian security guard accompanying President Vladimir Putin stands near the Church of the Nativity in the Biblical West Bank town of Bethlehem on June 26, 2012. Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas urged Putin to help unblock long-stalled negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians during their meeting.
