drug cartel kill each other![]()
Legalize it and this **** is over.
No but it'll at least take away a good majority of their money.
Legalizing it in Mexico wont do $h1-t. since they dont get paid there they get paid either in EEUU or Europe. who are the biggest consumers.
The same arguments were made regarding alcohol during the prohibition ... and it did curb (yes, not stop totally, I know) vioence and criminal activities, massively so. I do not doubt for a moment that legalizing mild drugs would have the same effect.
So you want to legalize everything? Even dangerous hard drugs that destroy people and afterwards the society?
This stuff, not to speak of modern drugs can destroy whole countries and empires:

The point is, this is not about PREVENTING drugs from being made available, because they ALREADY ARE available everywhere.
Yes there is stuff that is a lot worse than opium, but that is mostly due to the fact that drugs like heroin are/were so hard to get. There are functional heroin addicts just as there are functional alcoholics, and I think if addicts have access to clean, uncut drugs and sterile syringes it would in fact be less detrimental to their health than an alcohol addiction. To my knowledge alcohol is the only drug where abrupt withdrawal can actually kill you, and it is alo proven to be one of the most addictive drugs.
I think that a lot of the problems we see so often with drug addicts is not directly attributable to the effects of the drugs themselves but to the fact that they are prohibited, thus basically forcing their users into a fall down the social ladder and into a criminal career.
