Well how about putting off the purchase of the 70 inch flatscreen like I did when I had to make a trip to the ER for a kidney stone. Most of the TV shows suck anyway and watching them on 1080 3-d surround sound isn't gonna make the suck a$$ storylines any better. Know a ER nurse that has told me about folks with tats, piercings and iPhones, iPods but don't have insurance showing up for medical care. Get your priorities in order!

You're not bothered by what they failed to feed you?
I've already seen my insurance go up this year and if it follows the pattern I've seen over the last 10 yrs, it will go up and God forbid, never down.

What is that they failed to feed me ? paranoia ? I can form my own opinions, thank you.

Have you read the bill/law in its whole or just decided to let the media and politicians tell you what's good for you?

You're not bothered by the closed door deals, lack of transparency, lies, and even taxes that will affect YOU? I guess when a man makes a promise or expresses some sort of gratitude its only means something to you now at present and not later when you've forgotten?

My insurance has gone up twice in the last 4 years and I only assume it's due to those evil insurance companies just trying to milk me for what I'm worth

We participated in the Medical Expenditure survey. Long process and very insightful. Our whole medical system needs a overall.

    Billing a simple procedure:

Off the street a person with no insurance pays $100.00

    With insurance it varies. Co-pay..................... $ XX.XX
    Insurance discount, 50 - 80 dollars.

There are so many variable prices depending on who is paying. One reason some doctors do not take medi-care. There are among the lowest to pay drs for cost of the procedure.

Obama-care is not the problem, it is the whole industry. Oh yes, Pharmaceuticals included.

Well said Hollis. Yes it is the whole industry, doctors, insurance, pharmaceuticals, etc. I do not know the answers, but I can see the problems.

Last year when I shipped my wife and kids to stay with family while we sorted out our earthqauke sh!t, our oldest son copped an ear infection late on a Sunday afternoon.

There was no doctor's office or 24 hour primary care facility available so it was off to the emergency room.

My wife bought travel/health care insurance, but unfortunately we learned later the health care cover was only good for up to 90 days....they stayed for 92 so coverage denied.

A several hour wait in the emergency room that resulted in a less than 5 minute consult with a doc and a prescription for antibiotics cost over $1000 and no ability to dispute billing like a health insurance company can.

So we had no choice but to pay.

What I fear about this judgement by the Supreme Court, beyond my complete agreement that US healthcare NEEDS complete overhaul.....is the trashing of the 10th Ammendment.

If it's not a designated federal issue it's kicked to the states.

They get around this by calling pretty much everything interstate commerce and calling this a mandatory tax.

And taxation is supposed to be determined in the House.

I don't think healthcare will get any better or any worse...but I'm pretty sure liberty and freedom just got kicked in the nuts again.

If you define "hope" as legislation that benefits the health insurance industry by providing them with customers compelled to pay, then I guess you could call that "hope".

To me, this legislation is little different than the legislation that "helped" millions of Americans go into insane levels of non defaultable student debt and millions of Americans "helped" by the requirement to lend to idiots who wanted their own homes.

It benefits special interests......in none of the 3 cases(mandatory health care, student loans, and home loans to poor people) did it or will it truly benefit the people they SAY it's intended to help......it's just yet another way for government to cook up a sh!t sandwich you are required to eat and thank them for it.

All I know that Australia and Canada have universal health care and these are nice countries and high standard of living. Perhaps Obama care might not be a good legislature, but it can't hurt more than repeal of Glass-Seagall and banking industry collapse. So a few poor kids will get better care. It's a good thing. I rather see money being spent on that, than on bonuses of banking CEOs.

PS. Banana Republic ads are following me. WTF guys? What happpened to Asian ladies dating websites? I'm glad you're guys are doing great though.

Australia doesn't have a universal health care system per se.

All I know that country should not be run as for profit business. That is certain. To answer your question, I have to guess. Since taxpayers paid for bank bailouts, that's not hard to guess who's gonna pay. People who work. You and me.
