FT Bragg BC killed in shooting

A shooting occurred on base at Fort Bragg, N.C., this afternoon.

The Army and local police have not yet released details, but there are reports that at least one person was shot and that an officer is dead.Update at 5:39 p.m. ET:NBC News is reporting that a battalion commander is dead and that at least one person was shot, citing a "senior U.S. defense official."

The officer, who has not been identified, was shot near the 18th Airborne Headquarters in a "distinctly military headquarters area," the official told NBC.

Update:

One Soldier from the 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade is dead and two others are wounded following a shooting incident June 28, 2012.
During a unit safety brief a Soldier shot another member of the unit and then turned the weapon on himself. The shooter was injured and is in custody. A third Soldier who was in the area was also slightly wounded in the shooting.

Update:

It isnt Blue on Blue Pop, that happens in War by Accident, Negligence. This was criminal Murder, deliberate intent. And now some family has to prepare a funeral because some c sucker couldnt just kill himself but had to take someone with him. RIP to the LTC. condolences to family and I hope a Murder conviction and death penalty on the asshole shooter.
