    Default The First Ipad

For all those that thought Steve Jobs was a technology god, maybe they should have left their parents' basement and learned a bit more.

I remember playing with the AT&T device....

No, the first iPad was the first iPad.

This is just a video of a device capable of touch input.

Apple just has this habit of turning consumer electronics into apparent lifestyle choices.

It's called marketing, son. You could have the best thing since sliced bread or the most awesome invention since the wheel, if you dont know how to market it, rest assured your idea and products will be in a dustbin of history. Where apple usually hangs out and resells it and claim ownership.

Nokia had planned on touch screen mobile phones on "early stage" but after a consumer survey decided against going further on the project. Damn consumers!

Maybe they didnt polish the products enough before testing. As with most Market Research, garbage in garbage out. This is why we always push that the products being tested is as close to what will be launched when testing it. Also Nokia makes great phones, but Apple markets a lifestyle around the phone.

I've noticed when Steve Jobs talk about a product he doesnt speak about what the phone can do, its system capability etc. He talks about a lifestyle "I have a vision, what if everything in your office front desk can be placed in one machine portable enough to be carried anywhere, so instead aof a cubicle you are in a cafe" type of stuff. His phones help you be awesome, not you having an awesome phone.

I remember our battalion commander having a tactical tablet made by Elbit, running Windows 95 - during late 90s.

What's really sad about is that today's tablets have poorer business functionalities.

    BTW: Thinkpad 700 anyone?
