David Cameron 'prepared to consider EU referendum'
David Cameron is prepared to consider a referendum on the UK's EU relationship, but only when the time is right, he has written in the Sunday Telegraph.
In the article, the prime minister said he wanted a "real choice" for voters but said that an immediate in/out referendum was not what most wanted.
BBC political correspondent Carole Walker said Mr Cameron was "opening the door" to a possible referendum.
Nearly 100 Conservative MPs have called for a poll during the next Parliament.
In a letter to the prime minister, they urged him to make it a legal commitment to hold a vote on the UK's relationship with the EU.

So UK can follow the dream of becoming 51 state in the USA![]()
Yoohoo! Finally! Man, I sure hope he loses not a second in organizing this, and implementing the results...
Good, we can get this out the way ready for the greatest Empire to rise again!
In reality, ain't going to happen, comedy Dave is all talk, no substance.

T. Blair must be so happy, his dream became true ! From now own P Ministers could play a relevant role as POTUS´s pet
on a serious note:
UK not joining the eurozone ended up as a good decision = eurozone in crisis nowadays, with forecasts of a short live
UK considering to "leave" EU ... does it mean the EU is somehow condemned ? :/
So far the UK´s choices where correct regarding how deep their involvement with EU would be. Without question, an "out" option voted should be seriously taken into account.

Theres not going to be an EU referendum it's just populist bs the Tories and Labour throw around to try and get the Anti EU vote.
So will he coordinate the referendum with Scotland, so they could vote about their independence at the same day too?
Good to see. It's a non-brainer leaving the group of your biggest trading partners.
Your spot on and one of the options is to renegotiate the terms of our relationship with the EU e.g. go back to a trading partnership, not a political one. So back to what it originally was with the EEC aka a trade organisation which is what the UK originally joined. Seems logical.
If UK leaves Eu - would it stop immigration? It needs to be dealt with. But not before I'll get my plumbers.
Who mentioned leaving?
The PM specifically said he's not in favour of an in/out vote, and few Britons would be.
We joined the common market specifically because it represents our biggest trading partners. People over the age of 55 in this country said they wanted it, and that's what they got.... for a while.
What nobody in the UK has ever sanctioned is the federated superstate-in-waiting that the EU has become. Very few people want that sort of unwelcome intrusion on our constitution, democracy, or culture.
