It's just the tip of the iceberg I fear. This problem seems to actually be getting worse, despite all the recent attention. It also seems to exist everywhere.
The UK story has a religious/social predator angle to it though, which makes it particularly insidious.

But this is the exact stereotype that the Indian immigrants want to escape ie to show that they are different than the Pakistanis. No community likes to be confused with a community which is increasingly Islamist, some of its members part of terror plots and now this pedophile gangs. And somehow they use their religion, ie Islam as cover.

I watched a Pak tv show where they spoke about how some of them living in the US and Europe now tell people they are Indian Muslims.....nonetheless it is a very disturbing story. I read about it from the time it was first reported, the accused deserved a lot more than the punishment they received.
But sadly this is something taught to them by the distorted Mullahs, they have grown up to believe it is ok to treat the non believers any which way you feel like.
Messing with the Sikhs is never a good idea. I hope that things calm down and better sense prevails on my Sikh brothers.

For the benefit of the Goras who might find it strange to get to terms with Pakistani South Asian cultural concepts, Yours sachly has produced a quick cheat sheet of terms & concepts. These are very useful when reading blog posts, listening to diplomats, "analysts", talking heads and the all too pervasive columnists you would come across in newspapers (Which about covers 99% of the Pakistani population). But first things first:
South Asian
Indians are Indians and Pakistanis when caught in tight situations (like in Airports) are Indians too. In other circumstances they are South Asians. Being "South Asian" offers many advantages. Such as an overwhelming numerical advantage.
Example: When faced with the question “Is radicalization a problem”? South Asians can reply with a straight face "Only 170 million, or less than 10% of the South Asians are radicalized". Which sounds entirely reasonable.
Given that organised pedophilia cross all cultures and the simple fact that the Sikh community is somewhat overly tolerant of spousal kidnap and convicted s*x offenders I would hazard a guess we will see something similarly heinous emerging from their ranks. Its really just a matter of time as all the right ingredients are in the mix.
Indians have their own unattractive cultural baggage like strangling your daughters if they act way to British or maiming some girl over a dowry issue or rejection. Like it or not all of us fall under some racial or cultural stereotype thats often hard to dispel and I really don't think putting a gulf between Indians and Pakistanis is going to help either party.
