Holy crap, I've only seen D'Onfornio as Gomer Pile and the guy from Law & Order... That guy was buff in between those two roles.

cool, thanks for link. one I did not know and was amazed at is 17.:

    17. One reason filming took so long is that Ermey was in a car crash in which he broke all the ribs on one side of his body. He was sidelined for four-and-a-half months.

there was always something about Gunnery Sgt. R. Lee Ermey's performance as a drill sgt. that was "spot on" that reminded me of boot camp. Maybe it was the language.

"Ermey ended up generating 150 pages of insults, many of which found their way into the movie. About half his dialogue in the finished film is self-penned."

Being a DI himself I imagine he was fluent.

Damn, are you THAT old? :P We had to name ours (M95) and if we dropped it, we had to write it a poem and read it out loud, infront of the whole platoon, sometime the entire company

That is why he holds his right arm up against his body in many scenes.

Not that old, but all the sh!tbirds in the '93 airforce were stuck with ww2 webbing and rifles. We were the last team, who had them though. We were shown those nice Canadian plastic rifles and told they could be ours, if we took a tour to the Balkans, but since I was drafted, I was waiting to get out.

And the roads at Boot are marked for driving on the left. Gunny Ermey is a star - my 7 year old loves Lock n Load.

Hehe, I'm pretty sure firing an M1 is more satisfying than the plastic canadian Diemaco C7A1 Hey, I'm joining the RDAF next year, maybe I'll get an M75 then hehe!

Yeah, our NCO's had watched too much FMJ. I never had to write a poem though Although I sang our national anthem in the "push up position"
