And out of the city it's still a clanish, blood feud run, back water. Somethings you just can't change.
Grozny" means "fearsome" in Russian. The city has undergone substantial reconstruction after the war

Nice pics though.
Nope it's from Russian's (My also!) taxes . You my ask "But where are the people?" Well they are in Moscow unfortunately. No jobs besides being LEO. Companys don't want to ivest in the region because Chechens can't sh!t , they are low educated ( they don't want ) personel and when they ask for a rise they come with guns.
Hmm. I've read several Arab billionaires have poured money into Grozny.

You said "most" . Remember when UAE proposed to build for free biggest mosque in Europe in Moscow because " There are only two for 2 mln muslims" . Russian Foreign Office said , Yes but only if we build an Orthodox Church in Riyad. You can't just build in Russia, because you are rich Arab. And few thousands of citizen (together) of UAE, Jordan,Yemen,Turkey,Pakistan... were killed in Chechnya soo they are very careful with their money.
One Day in Grozny, more pictures

I wonder how Grozny would have looked if Chechnya never attempted to separate. Would it become what it is after being destroyed or would have it kept its old Soviet architecture?
Ah the price of peace....
Still would of been a pretty city (well provided it was maintained)...
If it had never of separated I doubt it would have received anything of the handouts it has to make over itself in such a fashion
In all reminds me of this...
