Wow...who would do such a thing?
DOHA — Yasser Arafat, who died in 2004, was poisoned by polonium, according to the findings of laboratory research carried out in Switzerland and cited in an Al-Jazeera report on Tuesday. The analysis focused on biological samples taken from the late Palestinian leader's belongings given to his wife Suha by the military hospital in Paris where he died, according to Francois Bochud, head of the Institute of Radiation Physics at the University of Lausanne."The conclusion was that we did find some significant polonium that was present in these samples," Bochud told Al-Jazeera.

Wow...who would do such a thing?
Al Jazeera still finding ways to report that Arafat is being tortured by the Juice 8 years after his death.
If I remember correctly when Litvinenko was poisoned media were claiming that 3 laboratories in the world have polonium 210. Russia,USA and can't remember that third one![]()
I hope it was painful.
He had AIDS, and some are not comfortable with that fact.
#1. It took this long? #2. Didn't the Russians poison someone with that stuff in england or france sometime over the past few years?
From wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PoloniumPolonium-210 is widespread in the biosphere, including in human tissues, because of its position in the uranium-238 decay chain...
...As early as the 1920s Lacassagne, using polonium provided by his colleague Marie Curie, showed that the element has a very specific pattern of uptake in rabbit tissues, with high concentrations particularly in liver, kidney and testes.[84] More recent evidence suggests that ... similar patterns of distribution occur in human tissues.
I wonder, which exactly "biological samples" were given to his wife Suha...
BTW, half-life of polonium is 138 days, so during 8 years its quantity should decrease in more than 1000000 times, that probably indistinguishable from the natural background.
This, and the fact that the only source of the "news" is Al-Jazeera makes me suggest that the whole story is pure BS.
