BTW, half-life of polonium is 138 days, so during 8 years its quantity should decrease in more than 1000000 times, that probably indistinguishable from the natural background.
This, and the fact that the only source of the "news" is Al-Jazeera makes me suggest that the whole story is pure BS.

Like many have already said, Arafat had been diagnosed with HIV and was suffering from a Liver aliment, regardless of this "revelation" his death was certain.
I don't ever remember reading any such article saying that he had Aids .... can someone post a legit source of the said claim from the period it was supposedly mentioned

I couldn't find the source, but apparently Polonium isn't that hard to obtain, and, once ingested, it takes a very small amount to actually kill someone. For example, Polonium is used in machinery in textile mills, paper manufacturers, sheet plastic makers, etc.
