Jesus christ that's tough reading. That being said, some of the mergers at least are 'sensible' (pinch of salt to be taken) given the state of how we wage war these days.

Simple, chronic mis-management of the MOD by the former government (and i guess before them) leaving it with a massive debt and a massive overspending mess that requires cuts and changes to stop it from going bust.

    Sad to hear.
British soldiers are some of the best I've ever trained with.

Like SDL said but you also had a budget cut by the UK treasury, it was a bit like giving the MOD a double budget cut.

This is all to do with Blair and Brown leaving this country without a pot to piss in. This is what happens when you have a Socialist goverment, spending other peoples money. One day you have to pay the bill.

So the British Army is going to be just over a third the size of the United States Marine Corps?

    Trippy.

So that's what a 20% cut looks like... Pretty savage. Though, is it just me or have Scotland got through relatively unscathed?

Are there any other countries out there that cut their military as severe as we do? It's ****ing sad.
