If I wanted to do something in Aruba I did it first then told I told the government, and if they disagreed they were too lazy to do anything about it anyways unless it was about booze
Pfff, you still haven't learned what it takes to be Dutch, you only tell if you are caught....

What I mean is that in Aruba you can be openly corrupt or doing something wrong and it's socially and officially acceptable
And I don't think I'll ever learn what it takes to be Dutch.

That is actually something you can not learn, as it is a state of mind...

I wonder what kind of a state of mind I've got, probably an American one since I spend more money than I earn and not the (Dutch) other way around

    Re: statues,

they just put up a statue of Willem van Oranje and Marnix van Sint-Aldegonde in Antwerp. In case you didn't know Marnix van Sint-Aldegonde wrote the 'Wilhelmus'. Do you think the time has come for...?

BAF found this. Article says it's an initiative by a Dutch foundation, and part of me thinks it's also because van Sint-Aldegonde was the Mayor of Antwerp.
We could do with more statues of William here as well. Still think there should be one on the Dam.

I always thought that Lamoraal's statue looked rather good, but that's just my personal preference.

For someone that used to own/govern a considerable chunk of Noord Holland, you see rather little of him these days...
