Default The military's misadventures in pixelated camouflage.

It's starting to look as if the military's long-running experiment with "digital camouflage" is about to end, once and for all.

Seriously? You're going to try and start the "UCP sucks!" thing up again? Jeez. Welcome to 2002.

And the asshat who wrote this--what does UCP's failure have to do with pixellated camo? He even notes at the beginning that it is the choice of colors, not the pattern, that is the problem. The Marines have been using pixellated camo effectively for years. The Canadians had it before them. Nobody's complained that those are ineffective.

Maybe it would be more accurate to say "The US Army" instead of "the military", and "UCP" instead of "pixellated camouflage".

It's the colors of UCP that aren't a good choice, not because it's digital or pixelated.

There is so much "information" floating around at the moment.

Jesus H Christ +i++s America this article was written by serious mouth breathing window licker. It has nothing to do with trends. The pixelated pattern was PROVEN to perform extremely (I won't post trials, that info is readily available in the other 18 new Army cammo threads) well in a number of light, terrain and foliage settings. Period. It works. And the "trend" isn't dying. The Corps will be wearng them for the forseeable future, as will the Air Force AFAIK.

Where the Army went wrong was trying to find one color scheme that sttod out the least evrywhere rather than two that blended in the best.

Since when was the pixelation the problem, not the moronic and laughable choice of colors?
