Tehran, Iran — Iran’s spy chief on Friday accused French and German intelligence services of cooperating with the CIA to kill Iranian nuclear scientists, an allegation likely to exacerbate tensions between Tehran and the West over the Islamic Republic’s disputed nuclear program.
Heidar Moslehi said that other intelligence services in the region — including that of Iran’s arch foe Israel — also took part in the alleged campaign targeting the scientists.

Re the original topic, the BND always had better sources than most western services in Iran, but I'm not sure they're stupid enough to risk a HUMINT network 40 years in the making to enable the Israelis to whack a few physicists.

French and German intelligence? Clearly after the monkey in space debacle, you never want to under-estimate the stupidity of the Iranian government.
I don't know about the Germans, but the DGSE has dipped it's beak into the blacker side of things on occasion.
No conspiracy involved. 9/11 or the fall of the Berlin Wall weren't precisely predicted by the intelligence agencies either. We must part with the idea that "secret agents" inevitably know everything. Besides, the Verfassungsschutz is nothing like the Bundesnachrichtendienst.Germany's BND foreign intelligence service is tightly controlled by a parliamentary committee, i.e. it is more likely to bring down its own government than it is to topple foreign regimes, and from all what we know they rely mostly on signals intelligence instead of high risk human intelligence or even wetworks. The only known case of BND operatives going action thriller-esque is Afghanistan where they're deployed to increase security for German forces and civilians. Also, another team helped the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Well the BND is not the kind of intelligence service that kills people.
But they are known to be quite strong in the middle east regarding humint.
If they were involved then mostly likely by providing information to the Mossad or CIA which helped them - like giving information on locations and people etc.
This actually surprises me. They moved on from the Americans and the Jews?
They didn't want any of the other lesser Satan's to feel left out.
So they've broadly accused American, British, French, German, and Israeli intelligence agencies of taking out their scientists?
Really. I could only hope the West was that cohesive, unified and coordinated.
Maybe these countries (US, Britain, Israel, etc...) should try to fulfill their objectives without assassinating civilian scientists
