Surprised it hasn't happened sooner across the board. Just think of all that revenue the various levels of gubment are loosing out on to fill their coffers and spend so wisely. Am waiting on the "tax tax" where one has to pay tax on the taxes one has paid.

the brick and mortar stores whine and complain about a level playing field...as if the guys who sell online have not spent a ton of money in web-online developement, software engineering, payment of web hosting sites, payment for huge warehouses of stuff and folks who pack and ship the same stuff from the warehouse to your door...which most brick and mortar stores do NOT do (pay for) and they want a "level playing field"....bull sh1t, they want the online merchants to go away so they will have a monopoly like they used to have.
Amazon, ebay, and other all online stores need to band together and fight this tax stuff, no matter if from the federal or state level. (and companies like UPS, USPS and FedEx should also help out as they profit hugely from the online sales)

NOT. Most of them use premade platforms at low cost. And other costs arent as high either. One can start running a internet shop from his own room(as lot of people do). Amazon and Ebay are one of the exceptions with own platform, not the rule.

And them not being taxed already is the core of problem. Nobody wish to make them pay more. Only the same as the rest. What is the logical explanation for them not paying it right now?

In what part of your brain does taking more money out of your wallet make sense? Find that part and have it removed.

If I have to pay tax on something I buy online, I want it at my door within 24 hours. Otherwise i'll just go to a damn store and buy it if I have to pay tax.

Hey maybe we should force brick and mortars to charge Shipping and Handling.

There is a level playing field already. Brick and mortar stores have to pay for their store costs and sales tax. Online outlets have lower costs and prices, but must tack on shipping costs.

Are you guys stupid or only act so? Just because they have different cost, doesnt make them special. Paying sales tax makes them equal to the rest and doesnt destroy their business. They pay it here in Germany - and guess what? Amazon is doing great.

Well i cant find any better words to describe the stance of people who say that not having a sales tax for online retailers is a fair game. And they arguments for this are beyond stupid - but they have to pay for web shop and warehouse! As if normal shops dont have to. And best part of it - it not even in your interest to keep them tax free. They arent going to increase prises, just lower the win margin(while still keeping it high).
