A century ? Don't exaggerate. Abrams will be cutting edge for the foreseeable future. No doubt, its successor is already on the drawing board.

The U.S. doesn't really need to build any more tanks now does it ? Especially as Leo2 has cornered the international market

Usually, I don't take any notice of anything he posts. I blame solar flares (and a lack of an emoticon)

If they managed to transform whole industries into military ones in WW2, then they wouldnt have problems with just restarting production of already existing ones.

Back then tanks were pretty simple, engine, gun, stick armour on. You could train a guy (or gal) who built cars to do it pretty quickly...now not so much, from the fact the armour is no longer just steel, to the FCS, gas turbine engine etc....

Meh, there is *plenty* of them in storage. There is simply no need for insane cold war numbers anymore.

I'm pretty sure we will go nuclear long before we lose 5,000 MBT's on the field of battle.

I hope everyone can sleep soundly now.

Well but you dont need to train them from zero. You only need to train them to use already existing machines that produce the parts and how to put them together. No need to start from scratch.

After the whole Maneuveer School of Exellence thing one would think otherwise. Unless administration change comes into it.
