That look likes the blokes that work security at Sydney airport. I shake my head everytime i go through the screening machines, all of them look like a bunch of terrorist or there couisins. I just returned from a holiday in europe & id have to say the most indepth screening i got was at Frankfurt airport, included a pat down a bag inspection & swobbing of my head phones, i was well inpressed. Oh & non of the staff resembled terrorist or there cousines.
Damn here, the airports involve taking of your shoes and belts and all metallic objects inserted in the xray machines and then pat downs. So to be honest why did they hire security that looks like terrorists in the olympics? Are they that PC that they would risk the lives of thousands just so a community is not hurt?

Its called managing the security threat, it just makes it all that easier for AQ to inflitrate the event. The IRA might look like you, but i sure there are other distingquishing marks or red flags for security that could be raised. But do go on let PC rules the day.
I don't think it's them being PC but I know friends who are on a Public Services course at college all got offered employment and training by G4S for the Olympic's security. I think they're just taking in all the unemployed younger adults/college go-ers, giving them two weeks worth of training and then deploying them down at the Olympic stadium and around to fill the demand upon G4S.
I have a friend who recently applied for an SIA and he said that over half the people on his course were migrant workers with very little knowledge of English looking for what they viewed as an easy job with easy pay for standing around Tesco's. I suppose a fair few of those migrant workers and slacks would find themselves down at the Olympics site too with it being London and all. But again that's doing a discredit to those who work hard in the private security industry, I just hope there's a good number of them present later this month.
Your obviously missing the point, as Junglejim has mentioned. Why in the current world & threat we live with, have a bunch of security guards that resemble terrorist in the eyes of the masses. I know it wouldnt make me feel any safer, far from it. And thats not being racist, thats just reality something some people avoid looking at.
G4S, which was contracted to provide almost half the 23,700 security staff needed for the London Olympics, has issued a statement after admitting it would not be able to provide enough workers for the Games.

The worse thing is they were asked if they needed help and they refused, if they would have just admitted it when they realised the military could have at least prepared rather than canceling soldiers holidays.
I feel for the guys just back from A'stan and worries over redundancies etc, but to be honest I'd rather see soldiers in uniform, than some half trained pecker with a security bib. Hopefully the troops will get all their owed-time off in lieu and still get to take in some of the games in their down time.
I was at a Barracks/Depot on a course in Lincolnshire 2 weeks ago and the place was full of Royal Marines and 1 Rifles all doing this training.
They were given practical advice on the amount of liquids a spectator can have (100ml) as well as
some more surreal advice such as what do when you find an IED in someone's bag !?
Considering they are all hardened veterans of Afghan and even Iraq, I think it's logical to assume they already have a very good idea

It has been said time and time again on here by people justifying the TSA and other agency searches that you search every type of people because you cannot tell who is going to be a threat, ie, you cannot tell just by looking at someone and judging them by their ethnicity that they are a terrorist. If you do, you get the sort of knobjockey oxygen thief who attacked Sikh businesses post 9-11. Anyone stupid enough to think like you have described is going to be hysterical at the Olympics - you know, being surrounded by 1000s of dark skinned competetitors, for god's sake- they even let some of them have guns and spears!
I hear some of them even have shoes now.
