Hah definitely, LAV's are much more simpler and the job is alot better, granted not all parts are grand, but that's the Marine Corps.

So you lat moved? What was your previous MOS? If so, how easy was it?

Lol I feel the urge to make a joke about Italy still being able to afford to send special forces units out on joint training...but I will refrain.

    I was an aviation mech.

It's easy if you're reenlisting to do it, just request a lat move package and have it filled out and returned to the career planner. You'll have to be up to date with your yearly training and **** (Rifle Range, PFT, etc) and get a few things signed off, but it's not difficult. I got lucky though because I didn't reenlist or extend, I did the lat move within my first enlistment and had enough time left to go clean through, my SGT MAJ at the time helped me out ALOT, practically had the package ready for me to fill out before I went to the career planner, and vouched for me on the recommendation page. He even "talked" to a CWO for me after he not recommended me due to a "the amount of money spent on this Marine to train him in his aviation job is not cost effective" comment.

Overall, it took me about two months, mainly because I had to schedule appointments and whatnot with dental, etc.

We were making improvised claymores, engineers were out there with us showing out to do this. The small one with the pencil legs is an improvised shape charge.

The "Tape" is a type of charge with det cord used to create "precise" breaches, mainly for doors and whatnot.

Love the unicorn on the small improvised bomb. Brent must be one happy fellow.
Nice pics and videos! IŽd personally hate to clean my gear after such an exercise, though...also, that GMG rocks!

Hah yeah, the guys for our LT's vic named it "Brent" as it seems like a weak, lame name. The vehicle has broken a few times already on this deployment. Turns out our LT doesn't like "Brent" so they let the name live through an improvised shaped charge.

Right on. Im comm (radio) and I dont like my MOS. Too much can go wrong with our systems for them to be reliable, and I hate not having reliable gear. Im going out with the 15th MEU next month, and I really wanted to change jobs when I get back, but I have little to no interest in reenlisting. I talked to my career planner, and it doesnt look like it is possible given that I will only have a year and a half left on my contract. However, I might try to FAP out to somewhere else, maybe try being a range coach or something.
