    Default Firefighters for Obama

Was flipping through my journal of the International Association of Fire Fighters and read the editorial endorsing Obama/Biden over Romney. Seems Obama has been good to fire fighters/cops/medics in these hard times, helping veterans out in the process too. Can't find a link to the entire editorial but here's some snippets:

I don't know many FF's that will vote for Barry, maybe 3-4 out 100 or so.. just because the stupid union says "vote this way" doesn't mean the members will.. hell round here everyone hates the local union anyways.

So Obama has been good to the IAFF, with other peoples money, and in return the IAFF and other unions will also use other peoples money to be good to Democrats. Full circle.

Obama has been good to firefighters, not the IAFF, with "other peoples' money". Nothing wrong with spending tax money on the public sector, and in this instance it's a good choice IMO. Places like Baltimore now have to consider selling ad space on their Engines due to lack of funds, to keep engine companies rolling and responding. Ronald McDonald nozzle anyone? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...n_1569583.html

Like Wall Street with Barry and Romney? And cotton farmers with both parties? Yes pay us subsidies to several hundred million per year and on top of that pay a WTO fine to Brazil for those subsidies?

You people act like your surprised. That is politics. Socialism for whatever sector/industry. Ask the defense industry who they like? Whoever gives em the most pork. Its not based on party ideology or any candidate, its the SYSTEM. Find me a senator from a farm state that doesnt ask for subsidies. Ron Paul got booed once for speaking out against ethanol subsidies in Iowa. Yes Bush paid farmers to grow corn then paid em again to turn it to ethanol.

Every year Boeing cries for more subsidies to compete against EADS but they dont wanna be nationalized like EADS. Simply open your eyes and look. The entire system is based on pork and $$ to certain group.

Regardless of who wins the status quo will remain, nothing ever changes. Unless you abolish the US Senate and remove money from politics nothing will ever change.

The overly pervasive influence of money in politics can be changed with a few simple rules and regulation and a decent law. It's done in other parts of the western world, but if you want to make enemies try to change something. Especially if it involves lots of money and influence... Nobody will have the courage or will to reverse things like the 'citizens united' ruling or have publicly financed elections. We don't have as much of a problem with this in Canada, just sayin'
