Huh, good luck on that. Though it'll be interesting to see how the Windsors react.

A French city that produced generations of English kings is demanding the British Crown jewels as compensation for a 15-century execution that ended the Plantagenet line.
In a petition that the mayor of Angers, in the Loire Valley, intends to send to Queen Elizabeth II, the killing of Edward Plantagenet is called a “state crime” that ended three and a half centuries of reign.
“The legacy of the Plantagenets must return to his heirs and the Crown Jewels of England must return to the Angevins,” reads the petition, which is hoping to garner 800,000 signatures.

Indeed. Wonder if the Crown will make a statement
Although, I would say that It's stuff like this that, in an entertaining way, I think, helps keep history from fading from view.
You mean House of Wettin, or House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha
Don't try to hide the fact they haven't had a truly English monarch on the throne for nearly 1000 years now, or well over 1000 depending on whether you consider Anglo-Saxons as true English or not.
Though if I was the English, I would remind them that we have a claim over the French throne for centuries
Well, that's one way to attract tourists to Angers![]()
Makes me wonder what's going through the Frenchy French's minds like do they think the English will just hand them over like that.![]()
Kind of makes me wonder how things would have been if the Hundred Years War had been won outright instead of the standstill that resulted in today.
Then again, alternate history like this can go on all day. War Of The Spanish Succession. The Celtic Union. Or even a Scottish Union to the Scandinavians. Union of Occitaina with Aragon instead of France. Possibile marriage of Isabella to Alfonso of Portugal instead of Ferdinand of Aragon. And this is just extreme Western Europe, jeeez.
Meh on the plus side we don't resort to killing each other in stupid little wars because the next door neighbor followed a different religion or spoke a different language. Instead we turned into football hooligans!
What ? No one mentionned anything of this kind in France. And we actually don't give a fvck.
They will not even respond.
Obviously, it's a non starter.
The Royal Family aren't entitled to comment on political matters.
And morally, profiteering from murder ? 2 wrongs don't make a right![]()
