Lol @ you guys about China treading carefully, A. this isnt the Spratley's. This is just some poachers not exactly acting on behalf of the PLA Navy. B. Actually Russia should tread carefully as well, the Chinese public albeit not to the extent it views the West, views Russia as an enemy as well. Chinese nationalists still believe Qing dynasty territory in southern Siberia to be China's "rightful" borders. The Chinese BBS has nothing but acrimony for Russia. Look at it this way there's a reason very little is happening to tap Siberia's resources to satiate China's thirst for raw material. Its because of mistrust between the two sides. China would rather go across the oceans then simply across its border to find resources then that says something about the state of relations between the two countries.

Can you explain in rational, non-CHINASTRONG terms why Russia should give a fиck about what Chinese public thinks? Does Chinese public drive PRC foreign policy at all? Why should Russia be concerned with Chinese BBS nationalists?

Well if the Chinese didnt poach everywhere and try to claim the entire seas then they wouldnt be shot at would they?

Any chance this could somehow complicate Russia-China relationships ?
If the Chinese state want to make a big deal over a poaching incident they are stupid. Some uninformed people might make it a big deal but that is silly. We are talking poaching fish. Kinda hard to get one's panties in a wad over illegal activities. It is like if Mexico started being pissed at the US over border guards arresting some drug mules. That's would just be silly.

If having the privilege of sating China's thirst for raw materials means giving a fvck about what China thinks about poaching and conservation then fvck sating that thirst. Given just how abysmal China is on those issues there's no reason anyone should pay them any mind on these and quite honestly it's much much easier to find another country in the world that'd like to buy those natural resources and manufacture them into a product then it is to find more people with those resources. Russia has every right and every reason to be hard on this issue.

I doubt so, the 100mm located at bow of the ship, The tracers were fired from somewhere near the stern of the ship, firing is fast with multiple round landing over water and Chinese ship, 100mm dont have Slug rounds, Those holes on the ship are smaller not from a 100mm, AK-630 was firing in burst in manual..

I don't think there are any disputed territories anymore between Russia and China, as China got back the little territory from Russia diplomatically. At that, the reason why China still negotiating cost for gas is because of the price, China wants cheaper price. And it is alright if some people in China don't like Russia. As it seems, not a lot of Chinese people like the Chinese government either. But, they don't run the foreign relation or even domestic polticial scene, so it makes very little difference.

What the Russian coast guards did was the right thing to do, and at least they got the balls to do it. What is going to happen after this? Nothing. Russia will still have diplomatic and economic ties to China.
