Why not? It's about the plate, not the vest itself. And as for that it doesn't seem more bulky than the body armour we use over here, and given the published specs are genuine, I wouldn't hesitate to insert a B-Max plate instead of a standard NIJ plate.

I've seen SAPI plates stop 7.62X39 rounds point blank, I've also seen it stop a 30-06 round, a much more impressive feat.

How the user fares afterwards however is a different and unknown story.

I keep on waiting for them to develop a bulletproof vest that uses liquid reactive polymer that hardens when struck by a shockwave...fill it inside a self-sealing bladder and I think that would work. It stays pliable until hit with a high energy shockwave.

The heavier it is, the less bombs you can carry.

The problem is that the vests need to take more than one hit. If it hardens on the first shot then fails the second its a no go.

A bullet proof may take AK round from 25meter to 10meter distance, But what impressive about this plate is its at point blank which no trauma effect on the subject..

It hardens when struck then becomes pliable again. It happens in a instant.

I have seen fair few of this youtube clips of this Body armor, But they where all done by the company, this one show's the Brazilian Police Force conducted the test, takes time to watch it all, but worth it, as it shows how many rounds it stops.

Put in concept, the Vid's they have done, looks like they have created some good body armor.

Anything that can save the life of a solider from a AK-47 and not get knock to his feet, is good armor.

Quoted for being so stupid I almost spilled my Friday drink over.

See now this thread is a resurrection. Never mind then.
