No math or reading proficiency testing for public school kids in the District of Columbia because it is "unrealistic".

Did the teachers get fired or their pay docked? Why not?

If the law does not suit you, gut it with waivers and LOL about that 'separation of powers' stuff. It is the Obama way.

First DC residends got a voucher program so they could send kids to private schools and now their public schools dont have to meet the same standards as the rest of the country?

It's almost too rediculous to believe...

It's not really when you think about it. The government has been doing this to the black community for generations. The Latino's are the newest victims with the please press #2 and don't bother to assimilate campaign.

Ready made Democratic voters so why would they try to fix the problem. Demand assimilation and you're racist.

What we are seeing is the creation of a permanent exploitable underclass. Great sheep for votes and low wage employment.

Both sides win. The people lose. This isn't politics, it's class warfare defined.

There's 31 other states that have waivers too.

It certainly doesn't make the whole situation any better though.

It doesn't suit 32 states. Not sure how it's the "Obama way", since the states are the ones asking for it. I think that Tennessee is hardly an Obamao stronghold, yet they asked, and received a waiver.

Of course it's unrealistic. It might mean that teachers might actually have to do something.

So if you get a waiver from No Child Left Behind, does that mean the children do get left behind?

Seriously, the stupidest law name ever...

Technically it's called an 'ESEA flexibility waiver', so I guess some smart politician's aide got the drop on you there.
