Many of the US Mil Weapons in use aren't from the USA. We have arms, systems from Britain, Canada, Israel, Italy, Germany, Belgium besides the USA

I've got a single stack Para Ord, 1911 SSP. It's a nice pistol although I don't shoot it all that much, but I've not had any problems with it after about 3500 rounds. But I have heard of guys having problems with them, specifically the double wides. A buddy had the LDA in .40 and that was a nice little shooter.

Yeah I think I recall another member on here that has one without issues. Para Ord offers special military/unit/deployment pistols at extreme discounts. Those are the ones I know that people are having issues with.

Maybe a language barrier - I suspect he meant to ask about the difference in ammo capacity between single and double stack. No need to be a jerk about it.

Isn't the Glock manufactured in the USA?

Some, not all. Many parts are manufactured in Austria but they are assembled in the US.

I have a 14.45 LDA, neat gun, but it hates hollow points like nobodies' business. Shoots FMJs just fine though. It is the magazines not the weapon that have the problem. Mine is a presentation gun/ safe queen so I don't mind. Springfield Milspec eats anything I give it though.

I don't believe that the actual purchase price is $5500 per pistol. The contract probably includes all sorts of extras - maintenance, replacement parts, etc. The same basic model is available to civilians for around $1200.

We all started out ignorant, and learned as we went along.

My remark wasn´t directed at highdiver, as I have no way of knowing whether he owns a gun or not.

It was just generally directed at the audience of that little explanatory picture ... which as the artist/author obviously presumes DOES possess guns and uses them, as he talks about their mag pouches and explicitly about "their magazines".

One immediately wonders what ELSE they do not know about guns ... basic safety rules, anyone?
