Reports are stating the shooter was a PhD student at the University of Colorado and graduated to from the University of California, Riverside a couple years prior. It is disheartening that someone with so much potential would just throw his life away, in addition to taking the lives of others. My condolences to all those affected by the tragedy.

A sad episode in our lives indeed. Rest well to the dead

I think in the end though, we'll win over people like that, if we keep doing the buisness that we do

He wanted to disrupt people out to see a hero...the best way to negate his horrible work is to carry on. Don't be scared, see that movie.

Heard the news on the radio here in Aus. They ran with "shooter addicted to video game Guitar Hero". The quality of MSM reporting here is garbage.

I think it's a bad idea to keep talking about this, because if I'm right the guy intention wasn't really the shooting that was just the event. But instead the real intention was to cause a panic and leave scars in people as well as society. This is done by the constant reminder of the event done by the media and also him surrendering makes sense since that will cause a long trial that will only keep this in the media longer, only farther ingraining this event into people and society as a whole thus causing problems.
Atleast if I did such a thing that would be my goal, this it's impact would be far more damaging and longer lasting than simply killing and injuring a few people.

Think of this kinda like the norway guy, if I remember right he did this as almost a fame stunt because he did all these things to prepare for it and look a certain way. Now imagine if we reported the story just once and then forgot about the man only to let him be forgotten and have no effect on the society, that would have more than likely fuking crushed him more than any sentence a court could give.

I hate it when they do that. Did the perpetrators of Hoddle and Queen St in Melbourne, in the 1980s play video games? Or Charles Whitman in the 1960s? I really wish journalists would allow the police, psychiatrists and the courts to work out the reasonings and motives rather than look for and push their own angles.

    That is simply amazing.

We got some crazy people in the US.

I'll guess I'll wear my gun on me when I go see it tomorrow.

I'm not the one to judge, and I'm definitely not seeking an argument, but seen to recent event and how some might react seeing a armed person in the theater, is it really wise?

You have better knowledge and experience on carriage of guns in the US, so whatever your opinion is, you'll probably closer to the truth than I am.
