Well he failed on this one, he did make a super hero movie here. The thing about the last one, was it was very real and doable specially with regards to the Joker. Here there was so many loose ends that it became a comic book movie
Saw this tonight. I enjoyed it, but I think some people were expecting it to be very action packed. Most of the action happens near the end of the movie. But I think Nolan wanted to cover alot of characters and fill in the story to tie up the trilogy.
I think Nolan also wanted to create a movie first and super hero movie second, just like he did with the previous two.

I wonder if it's really going to be a trilogy...
It's going to be a trilogy...?
The movies have a lot of potential, IMO. I havn't seen the third one yet, but if it follows along the lines of the two before it I don't understand why they would stop here. There's a lot more villains they could explore.
^Well, then he surprised us all for several years.I'll see it, number 4. My friends would not allow otherwise.
This is a seperate universe
Maybe Batman really is done...if there is one, it'll be a standalone, in the future...about Terry McGuiness?
Did the Batman Trifecta with friends. Kicked A$$. I'll say this, in a few years when WB reboots this cash cow whoever is the director is gonna have a hell of a time topping this trilogy.
I don't know If I am getting old, but I found this movie to be average at best. The last one was so much better. This one had pacing issues, dialogue issues, bad audio mixing, inaudiable main villain at times, ruined the suspension of disbelief often, wooden characters, lack of character development, plot holes, predictable "twist", music score too loud at times, etc....meh.
I just don't know about movies these days. I don't want to be wowed so much by special effects any more, I want to be wowed by the substance of the movie. Heath Ledger had that as the Joker, and it was believable. This movie just not so much.
I thought it was really good. It was less serious and depressing and more comic booky than the last one and I think that's good. Batman is a comic book character. The tone was a little more upbeat, like Batman Begins, and I walked out of the theater in a good mood. The last movie was such a joyless downer.
If there's another Batman movie -and there will be; it's too much of a cash cow- it'll be a reboot. Nolan has said he's done. And I bet DC wants to build a shared movie universe for its characters like Marvel has done so they can tie into a Justice League movie. I'd hate to see that though. Batman works best as a somewhat more realistic, stand alone character.
The studio will mandate a sequel or reboot sometime in the near future, it's too successful a franchise to not run it into the ground. But I don't think we can expect to see Nolan or Bale in any of them. Those guys have professional integrity.
As for the film itself, I think it suffers from the same bloat as its predecessor- I still think the first one was the best one- but overall I thought it was entertaining overall, but won't stand up to repeated viewings. I agree with Dave in that there were significant pacing and dialogue issues. It's good, but not great.
has anyone observed this ? most of the cast of the dark knight rises are from inception
That was the most completely epic finale to a trilogy I have ever seen. Nolan has accomplished perfection.
It's a damn shame it's come to a close.
