At the moment the evidence is very circumstantial. If true it is a serious issue that should result in many heads rolling but right now all there is is a suspicious timing.
The only way is the thugway for this Chicago clown
Speaking from personal experience if you are somehow perceived to be living or giving beyond your known or expected income / wealth you will get some extra attention, the folks that commission audits also follow the press as I once found out after an article in a European food magazine bigging up our company was published yep two weeks later we get an FSA sanctioned audit about two months after our yearly local authority audit, coincidence I don't think so.
A high net worth acquaintance gets an HMRC audit after his very unique number plate is offered for sale and he gets some press attention. The regulatory folk use the press as a source of leads it's always been the case.
The election campaign last like 18 months in states... Should any audits of donors be prohibited in that time?
if someobody drops a million on a political party it's good to take a closer look. Smells like a bribe.
Man, imagine all that funding going to reduce our debt. We need a leader that truly cares about America...
Its unlikely he or any of the large and frequent donors to both the Dems and Gop would be investigated as they largely have an expenditure profile that is already known. Start making a large one off donation that breaks from your profile then yes you will get some attention.
The Obama apologists and spin doctors are out in force today. Obama is acting like Hugo Chavez, using the power of his office to attack and suppress political opposition. And they talked about 'the Bush imperial presidency', then try to whitewash the far worse things going on in this one.![]()
