Perhaps I have a sour taste left from the USS Liberty incident. But I like Kissinger's statement the most. In the world of real politics - there are no friends, only interests. The US & Israel works together when our interests are aligned. The US pours billions into Israeli military aid - and in exchange, the Israelis keep the US military industry alive and provides a certain level of support for US interests in the Middle East.

When our interests aren't aligned - they don't and we don't work together. London is not subject to competing claims. It isn't in the US' interest to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. If you can't understand why - then I can't help you.
Seems you would alienate Israel for the sake of a presidential election. Please keep your help to yourself. I don't throw friends under the bus for votes. Also are you affiliated with ACORN or The Muslim Brotherhood by chance?

How does one alienate Israel with existing decade long US policy?

As for your secondary comment - ad hominem never works.

I am just saying Andrew that the POTUS is willing to bow to everyone but can't summon the political strength to name the capital of Israel. Sound pretty damn weak to me. As for the second comment, I was just wondering what type of influences you had as to come to you opinion. Excuse me if it was taken as a personal attack.

Lol.. Obama had no problem calling Jerusalem an undivided capital of Israel during his AIPAC and Israel visits.

IMHO it's more a case of Americans exploiting Israel for the sake of elections than the other way around...

And I have already made my opinion on this matter quite clear.

Stay out of our elections. I'm not a Obama fan - but he is my POTUS. And the White House's policy, supported by the Department of State - is decades old. Like the status on Taiwan, I may not like it - but it is our country's long standing policy that makes sense.

I'm an American first. A lot of people should be reminded of that in the political sphere.
Eh? so an Israeli news site reporting on something relevant to Israel, means that Israelis are interfering in your elections?

You're not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?

If anything, it's both sides in your elections, bringing Israel up, each for their own interests. leave us out of it...

And what of US Citizens who have an opinion on the US failure to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital?

If not for the Liberty reference, I could accept your basic argument. But instead, you are just trolling.

Well if this isn't a sign that Obama is desperate for votes than I don't know what is. By basically saying "no comment" he hopes NOT to pi$$ off two possible voting blocs?

Funny you mention that rat bastard, as while he may just call his PRC Politburo friends and access "interests", the other word far more applies to him.
