Umm. US Americans boycotted an Olympics for somewhat similar reasons:

    Then came the USSR.

The US boycotted the Moscow games because of the Afghanistan invasion by the USSR.
The Arabs do not compete with us because of what?

Germany and Japan were also not invited to the olympics in 1948.

Then the Lebanese should boycott the games altogether as well if they want to make a statement... and save everyone this sort of BS.

... Is there anyone from the IOC that has confirmed this? Because until now, only the Israeli spokesperson has said this and no formal complaint has been lodged. Which, as said in the other thread, I find very awkward.

How would we know if a formal complaint was lodged? is there anywhere we can look at?

    What's awkward?

Arab/Muslim teams have been pulling off this sort of sh*t for years.

That is the first thing the Israelis would have done and stated.

What is awkward is the fact the Israelis overlooked the formal complaint. Especially as in such circumstances, the two Lebanese Judokas would have received the boot.

After the organizers accepted their demand for a barrier you really think they would have given them the boot?

    I don't think so.

And the Israeli team probably reached the same conclusion, that a formal complaint is a waste of time... best we can hope for is that one of their guys will have to compete against one of ours and then they'll face a real dilemma.
