In fairness, I don't think you watch US news media very closely. I tuned into MSNBC for giggles last week, and received three full hours dedicated to nothing but bashing Romney; I'm not kidding when I say that there wasn't a single story, on any of the three programs, that didn't concern him. I haven't watched FOX in a while, but if I had to guess, they're probably doing similar things for Obama. The news media in this country has gone into full-on campaign mode, each network becoming little more than a cheerleader for its respective candidate.
What Reid is describing is hearsay, plain and simple. As of this time, he's demonstrated nothing to substantiate his claim. It's "news" because he's a national politician. John Boehner making a similar accusation against Obama would likely be reported in the same manner, depending on the source.

Wow.....so we have Harry Reid(Mormon Convert) attacking Mitt Romney(who was born into the Church), and while he is going on, Reid had this to say,
What a cok knocker........."He didn't pay taxes for 10 years! Now, do I know that that's true? Well, I'm not certain," said Reid."
So he has no proof but just wants to stir the pot.
