Yea, I think when it really hits the fans we have something like 20 years of reserves and another 50 years pretty easily accessible in North America.

Isn't Saudi military footmen mainly from poorer Muslim countries? I certainly wouldn't trust that kinda army to fight for me, and looking how badly they did in Yemen couple years ago.

Not sure if they would have will to fight and win against country like Iran.

It appears the Iran regime has been slow to begin arming the Shiite rebels in NE Saudi.

Strange why they're not playing this card. They could have Syria 2.0 rolling in Saudi by Dec.

The US has other options for oil, much closer to home. It just needs a good kick in the balls so the populace will demand it's development, rather than fear and stonewall it.

I too am all for throwing gas, kerosene, whatever, on Iran+KSA
    Throw in the linens too

I think the Iranians would hand the Saudi's their asses as well.

I doubt that. But even if true, is Europe done doing that? They are not embracing fracking, so they are going to have to continue importing energy from the Middle East. They will also soon be buying natural gas from Israel. They will have no choice but to politically protect those interests.

    Europe can't project power.

We were talking about protecting interests. Europe can provide sophisticated weapons, aid and political support to those they favor. Those nations that threaten the ones the Euros favor may find their internal protesters and rebels being funded and armed, their political initiatives blocked in the UN and elsewhere, sanctions levied, their credit cut off, and more. There are other means of warfare than just the direct military kind.

There comes a time when protecting ones interests goes beyond harsh words, political initiatives, or moral and logistical support. An Iranian invasion of SA would not be hindered by any of these and once their conquest would be complete (because Europe couldn't intervene) Europe would have to come hat in hand to the mullahs. God willing.
