Zambian miners kill Chinese supervisor

LUSAKA (*******) - Zambian miners killed a Chinese supervisor and seriously wounded another on Saturday in a pay dispute at the Collum coal mine, labour minister Fackson Shamenda said on Sunday.

Having spent 37 years in various parts of Africa, I can vouch for this. Life has very little value in most of Africa. Hard for some Westerners to understand, but sadly true.

I bet it came as a surprise to the Chinese supervisor. I've noticed some of the more parochial mainlaind Chinese management who travel abroad to work in branch offices can have a hard time adjusting to the fact that foreign juniors don't always kowtow to their inherent Chinese superiority

I just left Africa not too long ago. Zambia was one of the countries I worked in, and I have to agree. And about the growing dislike of the Chinese by many.
