All too often, Sikhs have been targets by Islamiphobes, simply because of their beards and turbans. Ignorance is ignorance.

    Prayers to the suffering.

    Rest In Peace..

Sikh rights groups have reported a rise in bias attacks since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The Washington-based Sikh Coalition has reported more than 700 incidents in the U.S. since 9/11, which advocates blame on anti-Islamic sentiment. Sikhs don't practice the same religion as Muslims, but their long beards and turbans often cause them to be mistaken for Muslims, advocates say.

    Sikhs are beyond misunderstood.

Some lady called the cops on my friend because she thought him and his family are terrorist(faaaaar from it).. And don't even get me started on the sh*t they get at school...

You have to have some serious balls to wear the turban and beard.

It's messed up because they serve free food to everyone in a lot of these Gurudwaras. It doesn't matter if you're White, Black, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, etc.

Quickly reminds to the case of Balbir Singh Sodhi. A sikh who was killed a couple of days after the 9/11 attacks simply because he was mistaken for a muslim.

News: Police have cleared the building and are now searching a nearby wooded area on line with dogs. Also, the are searching for the vehicle the shooters used.

Has it been confirmed that there was more than one shooter?

The police initially thought there might be more than one shooter, but subsequently found no other shooters.

RIP to the dead and speedy recovery to the wounded.

A temple is a place of peace and sanctity and its a shame that this has happened.

And as has been said by someone, the timing couldn't be worse (although there is never a good timing for such unacceptable acts).

Goddamn tragedy. I've been to several Sikh temples and they were incredibly warm, welcoming people.

multiple USER Comments on CNN[apparently from video interview with a witness - I have yet to see said video] are saying its a White male with a 9/11 tattoo.
