nuts, is it true?![]()
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/s...,6799630.storyA Syrian rebel group said on Wednesday it had killed a Russian general working as an adviser to Syria's ministry of defense in an operation in the western Ghouta region on the outskirts of the capital Damascus.
RIP if true *I hope i am wrong.*

Haven't found any news on ******* site which is quoted. Moreover, surname of that general looks like that in Hollywood movies![]()
If it is true, can't wait to see the action from Russia. May be they deploy some special troops there to eliminate these FSA
According to this link thanks to DasVivo in the Syrian photos thread, it is an obvious fake as there is no General currently in the Russian armed forces by that name or sounding of that name.

If it is indeed a real ID card then this guy could very well be a merc and nothing more. But no one of higher standing in Russia.
Gazeta.ru says that the general does not exist in the Armed Forces and that if such a Person did exist they would be retired living there (his age being above the limit for his rank as DoB 1952)
It also has been denied by the Russian Embassy in Damascus so I am calling bull**** on this (atleast for however the angle is that the FSA is trying to portray)

Currently. Was there an ex-General by this very name? That's more important. If he was/is a former general and now working as a civilian advisor, I can't see a Russian military reaction anytime soon. A strongly worded letter, yes, but not some openly or covert Spetznaz action some members apparently hope for.
According to Gazeta he is retired and is living in Moscow atm.
